How long does it take to tune a piano?
It seems that most of the first time residential tunings that I do are with pianos that are way out of wack. Sometimes certain sections are not so bad, but other sections can be very sharp or flat. These pianos are often those that have missed many of their regular annual service calls. I like situations where I don’t have to hurry so that the final product is top notch. I try to keep my pricing within guidelines as mentioned on my website. I try hard to impart a solid tuning in order for it to stay in tune as long as possible. I may suggest some humidity control which I can install.
It takes as long as it takes to get it right and sounding great. If it is 1/2 step off, then allow 2 to 2 1/2 hrs.
